CRYOLIPOSUCTION

Cryoliposuction is a mini-liposuction invented by Dr. Smarrito, which allows you to suck between 200 and 500 ml of fat from a localized area. It is therefore a mini – liposuction assisted by cold. The cold allows local anesthesia but also greater post-operative comfort.

Yes. Cryolipolysis is a different process. For cryolipolysis we apply a bell-shaped handpiece to the area to be treated, then cold is applied, usually around minus 10 degrees, for an hour. This method makes it possible to impact fat cells (adipocytes) which have difficulty renewing themselves.

It is possible to notice a reduction in volume after 4 months, of around 18% according to publications. On the other hand, even by accumulating cryolipolysis sessions, it is not possible to achieve the result of cryoliposuction or liposuction.

Indeed, the big difference compared to cryolipolysis is that cryoliposuction combines the two methods, on the one hand the impact of the cold but also the suction of fat from the area, which makes it possible to remove substantial volumes and have a result identical to real liposuction, unlike cryolipolysis.

Strictly speaking, there is no favorable age. Good physical condition and the absence of serious history is a prerequisite. In the case of local anesthesia, cardiac damage or consequent pathologies must be reported to the doctor. On the other hand, it is not possible to perform cryoliposuction under anticoagulant or blood thinning treatments. A medical examination as well as a history will in any case be requested by Dr. Smarrito during the first consultation.

The most favorable age to carry out the procedure remains between 20 and 50 years old. There are variations depending on the sex of the patient but also the silhouette. Cryoliposuction is, for example, particularly suitable for athletes who do not need real liposuction but just to “get rid of” a localized unsightly bulge. On the other hand, one of the important parameters is to be informed about the quality of the skin and the expected appearance of the skin after the procedure.

Most of the time, following cryoliposuction, the skin recovers. Indeed, as the fat volume is moderate, there are generally no waves or folds to be achieved after cryoliposuction. If folds, waves or irregularities in the skin are present before the procedure, they will not be corrected by cryoliposuction.

On the other hand, to improve them gradually, it may be interesting to combine cryoliposuction with Morpheus 8 sessions, which can be carried out on an outpatient basis in the office, simply anesthetized with a cream. The analysis of this phenomenon is always done between 3 and 6 months after the operation because, even if cryoliposuction is a gentle technique, edema appears after the operation and will take a few weeks to resolve.

In most cases there is no request to stop exercising. A simple Velcro abdominal band can be worn, sufficient for post-operative support to reduce reactive edema following work in the area.

In fact, there is no special care, it is possible to take a shower the very evening of the procedure. The entry area of ​​the micro-cannula is punctiform, 3 mm, it is enough to disinfect it after the shower.

On the other hand, we advise patients to apply a moisturizing or emollient cream to the suctioned area to promote skin retraction. A simple elastic compression bandage can be applied for a few weeks to contain the edema, which is generally very moderate.
