Inflammatory acne

LED

What is it about ?

Light-emitting LEDs or diodes produce light without emitting heat. The spectrum of the LED band is identical to a laser.

On the other hand, the energy delivered by an LED is lower than a laser. The LEDs that we use at the RIVIERAclinic are monochromatic. That is to say that the indications of the color of the LED depend on the indications and the treatment sought.

Each color has a different penetration into the epidermis and dermis, thus having a different clinical action. It was NASA which first highlighted the benefits of LEDs on healing.

This treatment technology has been present at the RIVIERAclinic for 10 years. LEDs are effective in themselves for many pathologies. For example, we see a marked improvement in inflammatory acne. In addition, they are part of our expert treatments because they reduce excessive redness in just a few minutes after laser or skin treatment.

A scientifically proven action

The LED has an action at the level of the cellular mitochondria. It particularly targets cytochrome c oxidase which is an enzyme. Thus, the LED stimulates this enzyme which enters into the production of ATP. ATP is, in a way, the fuel, the energy source of the cell. Then, in the case of aesthetic medicine, the cell will produce fibroblast and type 2 collagen.

As with lasers, the effect depends on the wavelength and intensity of the LED. Each LED color has a different action.

side effects and contraindications

POnce in aesthetic medicine, LEDs have no contraindications or side effects. We have never observed any burns or skin lesions. It should be noted that scientific research has shown that poor quality LEDs could have a harmful effect, that is to say harm the quality of collagen.

Unlike medical LEDs and other performances like those presented in the office which stimulate cellular activity. It is therefore not recommended to use commercially available LEDs, at home or small, low quality LEDs.

THE DIFFERENT LEDS

A story of wavelength and color

La Red LED (630NM) acts at a depth of 5mm and is therefore effective on the dermis. Its main performance is an anti-inflammatory role and stimulates neo-collagenogenesis.

Yellow LED, its action is the stimulation of healing mechanisms.

Blue LED, (410-415 nm) acts mainly at the level of the pilosebaceous follicle (the hair and the sweat secretion gland.) If it stimulates healing, its effect is mainly sought to sterilize the proprionibacterium acnes which plays a known role in inflammatory acne.

infrared LEDs, penetrates deeper, about 1cm. It has a scientifically proven healing effect. Associated with this effect, research has highlighted an improvement in mood probably through the action of infrared at the bone level and an improvement in cerebral vascularization, particularly at the level of the frontal lobes.

LED treatments available at RIVIERACLINIC

We have a High-end medical LED at the clinic.

Indeed, the results are conditioned by the power of the LED but also by the computer algorithm of the machine. So a small commercial LED will not at all have the expected effect that we can have at the laser center. The effectiveness of the LED will therefore depend on the power, the quality of the device, the duration of the sessions, the exposed area, and the sequence applied continuously or discontinuously, or even the association of several lights in the same session.

It is thus possible to combine protocols which affect both healing and the anti-inflammatory side of this method.
