WHY DO I LIKE FUE TO PERFORM A HAIR TRANSPLANT?

La FUE is a technique that I particularly like. In fact, it is a hair transplant technique where the sample is taken from the posterior part of the scalp using micro-samples (small holes).

Thus, this technique is particularly popular, because it is also carried out by non-surgical teams.

I particularly like the SAPPHIRE FUE technique because it is very effective.

The sampling consists of making small holes to take the bulbs from the non-hormone-dependent part of the scalp.

This method has many advantages, it can be carried out without hospitalization. It allows you to cover areas of the scalp such as golf courses or small tonsures. There is no scarring, the side effects and risks are very low. On the other hand, this method requires real expertise. Indeed, multiple advertisements on the internet, in Switzerland and abroad, could make you believe that it is relatively easy to get started.

However, to obtain a satisfactory result in terms of FUE transplant, expertise is important. In fact, the sampling must be carried out in a very efficient manner, so as not to damage the hair collected. Likewise, the implementation using FUE Saphir technology, which I carry out at my practice in Vevey, allows a high level of performance in terms of grafting and results. In addition, particular attention is given to the natural appearance of the installation.

FUE SAPPHIRE, some particularities to know…

On the other hand, this method also has its particularities. It cannot be carried out for a number greater than 2000 hairs (contrary to what is written on the internet). Indeed, beyond 2000 hairs, the small points made at the rear of the scalp lead to a drop in density per square centimeter, which can become visible. Below this number, the appearance is very elegant.

Should the graft harvesting area be shaved to perform FUE?

This technique presents a slight constraint. Indeed, you have to shave the donor area but in my strategy I do not shave the recipient area and hair of intermediate length is rather satisfactory.

Despite great expertise, some bulbs are not taken when using the automatic gun at the rear. It is often difficult to predict whether the bulb is in the sampling axis or not. Thus, FUE wastes a small part of the hair collected. It is in these cases that I prefer to make MCE extensive hair transplants among young people so as not to reduce capital. It is impossible to have a transfer of 5000 hairs in FUE, unlike my MCE technique, which I prefer in cases of massive grafts.

An experienced FUE transplant team

For any additional information, as well as to know the prices, we thank you for coming for a consultation to obtain a tailor-made opinion. The price varies depending on the difficulty of harvesting, feasibility and the number of grafts desired. Please note that FUE is a long procedure, which can require from half a day to a full day of sampling, under local anesthesia and very comfortably in my office in Vevey.

A room dedicated to hair transplantation is in place and we have been using it for more than 15 years.
